Visit of Longtime Friends, New Presbyter

July 16 & 17 ns  -  On the weekend of the Royal Martyrs of Russia, we welcomed two longtime friends of the parish, one of whom had been ordained a deacon and a priest since his last visit.

With the blessing of our beloved Metropolitan Hilarion of NY and Eastern America, the Rev. Fr. CONSTANTINE DESROSIERS, assistant priest at St. Xenia Orthodox Church in Methuen, MA, served in our church.  Also visiting was the pilgrim PELAGIA McLELLAN, mother of the reposed Archimandrite Joasaph.

Fr. Constantine participated in the Saturday evening memorial  service and vespers and concelebrated the Sunday Divine Liturgy with Fr. Anastasy.  Fr. Constantine preached a moving sermon showing the relevance of the Holy Gospel and the Feastday of the Royal Martyrs in our daily Christian struggles.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy Fr. Anastasy presented Fr. Constantine with a gold plated communion spoon in honor of Fr. Constantine’s ordination and in memory of the Protopresbyter Nicholas Trivelas, who reposed in 2008.

After the faithful venerated the relic of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth, they approached Fr. Constantine for blessing with the Cross and antidoron .

Fr. Constantine and pilgrim Pelagia were honored with a  lovely luncheon prepared by the parish.
